- Download the Android 2.3.6 DDLC2 Gingerbread firmware from here.
- Extract its contents in a single file and make sure that there are four files created. One should be ODIN exe and other Odin titled file, one is the firmware image and one should be a .dll file.
- Launch ODIN exe and then power OFF the smartphone.
- Now you need to enter Download Mode and this can be done by pressing the Volume Down + OK center button and while you’re keeping both pressed you should press Power. This loads the download mode. Keep ODIN launched.
- Connect your phone to your PC and in ODIN check to see if the ID:COM has turned yellow. This means that all the drivers have been successfully applied. Move to the next step.
- Go back to ODIN and click the ‘PDA’ button. Select the firmware .md5 image file and then hit the start button for the update to start.
- After the update is completed your device will be rebooted. Now turn it OFF once again.
- Enter Recovery Mode by pressing and holding the Volume UP Key + OK center button and then press Power.
- When in recovery mode you need make sure to select ‘Wipe data/ factory reset’ and the ‘ Wipe cache partition’.
- Reboot the device by selecting the option that says ‘reboot system now’.
- When the Galaxy Y S5360 updates successfully the home screen will load and that should be it.
